- An Urban Garden Makeover When designing an urban garden, we study the surroundings, the available space and the client brief to ensure the garden's full potential is achieved. With the use of natural stones, brickwork, sculpture, and of course the planting, you can create a feeling of space, privacy and tranquility. This urban garden design was created on the 'diagonal' making the garden feel wider that it is. The timber posts were designed and placed so that their hammock, a retirement gift and critical in the client brief, could be perfectly hung between them, with the patio providing an area for relaxing and taking in the evening sun. Raised beds were created to frame the patio around the house, with seating and a built in BBQ for entertaining. |

This was enhanced with outdoor lighting, which was complimented with strategically placed soft lighting around the garden to highlight and emphasise key plants and the water feature. A diverse planting plan was designed in accordance with the client brief, creating mixed borders with a strong structure and texture for year round interest, whilst being colour themed for maximum impact. Finally, a composted bark mulch was laid to the border areas and an irrigation system was installed to help keep the garden maintenance to a minimum. Design
